Taylor Sausser is the owner and head instructor of Kraken Grappling Club in Norfolk, Virginia. Having grown up in a martial arts family, she was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at a young age and has spent much of her life training, competing, and coaching. Her father and brother are both black belts, and the lessons she learned through martial arts helped shape the values that continue to guide her today.
Over the years, Taylor has competed extensively and tested her skills against opponents of all ages, sizes, and experience levels. Her experience as both a competitor and coach has given her a deep appreciation for the personal growth that comes from consistent training and overcoming challenges.
As an instructor, Taylor works with students from all walks of life, including children, women, hobbyists, first-time practitioners, and competitive athletes. She believes that every student deserves quality instruction, and an environment where they feel welcomed, challenged, and supported.
Taylor is committed to maintaining a culture built on respect, integrity, accountability, and teamwork. While training is taken seriously, she believes learning should also be enjoyable and rewarding. Her goal is to create an academy where students can develop confidence, improve their physical and mental well-being, and discover what they are capable of accomplishing both on and off the mats.
Through Kraken Grappling Club, Taylor hopes to share the many benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the Norfolk community and help students build skills that last a lifetime.
